Yawn... What a crazy dream... I thought I uploaded the comic late, pff.
Mazer wasn't dreaming though. I do work part-time as a laywer, scamming people out of their souls using complicated terminology and fine print  But it seems that in case of Shadow Dan and the Book of Typos, it will be more then a simple courtroom battle with intermissions.
A group of shadow ninjas is send to take care of things while Shadow Dan secures the Book of Typos, but I suppose you guys can figure that out on your own... the story is preaty much straight farward. I don't sit there, trying to include any little hints on various themes and symbols or what not... (though it seems thats how stories are told in the English class).
Anyways, the next comic should be a treat, where Tony and Mazer actually engage in a battle with shadow ninjas. I'm hopping to make it look good and that Justin and Greg could come up with nice plot for me to work from. I also don't know if I could find enough time this weekend to make it the quality I want to make it by Monday, so there might be a delay (also depends on my tests... I got something like 4 next week  ) |

Well this week has been intresting for me, lots of school work and oh joy the thing that they camile to be a computer constes was this weeks as well. The CCC this year was as tony puts it ?a joke?. Now I know I am going to go on to sound like a sore losser because I did bad on this litte test that realy means nothing but there are some real iuses with this contest that need to be addrested by some one.
1st of all the questions this year where word so badly it makes you wonder if they where in English. Aftter reading some of thess it makes ?All your base are belong to us? sound like proper gramer. For example the 1st one on the seriore test makes it sound like u are looking for the 1st letter and/or the last letter to be the same BUT oh no, if u do that u will be lucky to get 1 out of the 5 test cases right.
Now the next big problem I have with this test is how easy it is to cheat on it. Since all that is marked is your output you could easy hardcode the output to be ?right?. But now you say ?but dan, how could u know what the output will need to be??, well the funny thing about that is all the test cases used acrose the nation for the contest are the same and are on the ccc web site to be download by teachers for marking but it is not hard at all for students to get there hand on thess. (if they know what they are doing). Also while on the topic of cheating I have hured of several case where the supvising teacher give a litte more ?help? to students then the rules whould alow. Normaly I whould not have a probalm with poleop cheating on a test because it whould not effect me at all but the way the ccc is ranked rates you aggested all the poleop who wrote and if poleop cheat it throws the hole thing off.
Also the marking of output only is just fustarting when you are almost comply done a very long completed question and the time is up befor u can get that last output line in that whould fix the hole thing and get u 15 out of 15 rather then 0 out of 15. The hole makring system is based on trying to trick you by using input that you whould expsted. I find this to be unfare and turing this more in to a crazy logic test then and progaming one.
Well now that I have complaned about this unjusts, I think it is time to do stoming. I think it is time for Compsci.ca to run there own progaming contest where we whould fix all the theses problems and not be so crazy with the marking and the trick questions. Only problems whould be we are poor and have nothing of real vaule to give out as rewaereds but I still thing poleop whould wiret it. Only other thing whould be finding time to make such a thing realty, a lot of work most go in to making a good contest (that is if you are not crazy like the ccc and use a random word genreater to make questions).
P.S. to any U of W staff that may see this and have any kind of infuclen on my application :p , plz don?t think that I bivle your hole ccc progame is bad. Other years have been quite good but this year just whent realy wrong and the marking of it could use some help.
And rember: ?All your base are belong to us!!!!!!!!?

Dont you love that , what a dream part , i found that quite funny. This bad boy comic , shoulld prep you all for the upcoming battle , IF MAVERICK EVER COMES BACK TO THE COMIC SCENE, but anyways , as usual the comic rocks and it does a good job of looking good |
